Cobla "Antiga Pep"

 

 To talk about this "cobla" linked to the Cervera's family reproduce the texts contained in the so often quoted "Recull Sardanistic" Josep Grahit (1916) and part of the article "The Cobla-Orchestra Antiga Pep and its musicians from Roses "signed by Emilio Cervera Lliuro and published in the festival program of Roses in 1985.

 

 "Undoubtedly, the oldest existing cobla and nowadays we could say that ever existed, is the entitled "Cobla-Orquests Antiga Pep". As its title points, was founded by the famous composer Pep Ventura why now has over sixty years of life, and they played the to the Queen Isabel II in Montserrat around 1860 and by this time was recently founded.

 

 The sardanas recorded by the orchestra in 1913, in the Pathe recording studios were:some habaneras by Albert Coto , "La Bienechura", "Malvina", "Mi Reina," "La Conversion", "A orillas del Nilo", "La útlima lágrima" (violin solo by E. Sans) "El jockey, "" El Canario "(soloist E. Sans), the waltzes" El batallador"(Massana)," EL seductor "(Perich) and   the sardana" El pardal"(Pep Ventura)," Flors boscanes"(Morera), "La Font del fresser" (Morera), "Brots de llorer" (Soler), "Enyorançaa" (Sans), "Catalonia" (Sans), "La pubilla empordanesa" (Serra), "Cercant aimada" (Serra), "Mainada" (Morera), "Lo cant del pastoret" (Pep Ventura).
